The Life Behind Phoenix Global: Work, Curiosity, and New Beginnings

By Scott Herrera, founder of Phoenix Global

A business has a name and a logo. The work behind it is harder to fit into one picture. For me, it includes tools on the ground, a notebook waiting for the next idea, time outdoors, and people whose presence made a moment worth keeping.

I am opening my personal photo archive through a series of short founder films. These are glimpses of the life behind Phoenix Global and Phoenix Bites: practical work, curiosity, connection, and the decision to keep beginning.

The work behind the vision

The first film begins with dirty hands. It moves through vehicle work, tools, and a working portrait. There is no polished finish line in those photos. There is a problem in front of someone and the willingness to get closer to it.

That is a useful place to start a conversation about building. What can you learn? What needs attention? What is the next task you can actually complete? A larger vision becomes more meaningful when you can see some of the work behind it.

Curiosity belongs in the story

A butterfly on a hand. A closer look at a hive. Turtles on a log. A bird overhead. These moments belong in the archive alongside the work photographs.

They remind me to pay attention to the world I want to help care for. You do not need a grand plan to begin noticing. Start with something small enough to miss, and give it a second look.

People and new beginnings

Some photos bring a different question: who showed up for you? Milestones are worth remembering, and so are the people beside us. If a person comes to mind as you watch this series, a simple thank-you is a good next step.

Other images are quieter: a fishing moment, a notebook by the water, a fire. In my writing, I return to the line, “The End Is Just A New Beginning.” These films make room for that part of the journey, too.

Follow the next chapter

The series continues with hands-on skills, scenes from farm life, time on the water, and photos from making Phoenix Bites. Each film pairs my own photographs with a short reflection and an original instrumental soundtrack.

If you are here for the product, read the Phoenix Bites pack guide and check the current ordering details before buying. If you are here for the broader mission, explore our community-building field note, which separates the work ahead from completed activity.

What are you building, learning, or beginning again? Bring that question with you as the next chapter unfolds.
