A Phoenix Global field note • September 27, 2026
A parent packing a school bag. A farmer deciding where the next load will go. A small business trying to make good work pay. These are the people we want our next chapter to serve.
At Phoenix Global, the ambition behind Phoenix Bites reaches beyond a single product: build useful businesses, make better use of resources, and create ways for families and communities to help shape what comes next. This is our direction—not a claim that a nationwide network is already operating.
Start with something you can see

For us, the question is practical: what can we build that helps someone in an ordinary week? A useful product. A stronger connection between a producer and a buyer. Materials that help a family learn or get ready for school. A clear invitation to contribute a skill.
Our Phoenix Bites storefront is one public starting point. The larger vision is to connect business development with responsible resource use and community participation. We will distinguish those ambitions from completed work as we share progress.
Give valuable resources another useful life
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency places preventing wasted food, donating it, and upcycling it among the most environmentally preferred pathways. Its guidance also explains how composting can recover organic material as a soil amendment. Those pathways serve different purposes; preventing waste comes before finding somewhere to send it. [1]
That gives us a principle to build around: understand a material before calling it waste. Our development interests include recovering useful agricultural and manufacturing byproducts. Any specific process will need its own testing, safety controls, economics, and appropriate approvals before we describe it as a working solution. An aspiration to use more of a resource is not proof of zero waste.
Build participation into the plan
USDA Rural Development describes cooperatives as businesses their members own, use, and control. Its resources cover producer, worker, consumer, and shared-services models, including ways members can combine purchasing, processing, or marketing activities. [2]
Those examples offer useful questions for our own planning: who makes the decisions, who does the work, and how are benefits shared? We want to explore partnerships that answer those questions clearly. Phoenix Global is not announcing cooperative membership, ownership rights, or a financial offering in this article.
What families and communities can do now
- Tell us what is missing. What practical resource, producer connection, or family learning activity would make a difference where you live?
- Bring a specific skill or need. Farmers, educators, makers, local businesses, and community organizers can describe what they could contribute and what support they need.
- Ask for evidence. A useful progress update should say what was completed, what was learned, and what still needs work.
We hope to develop approaches that communities across the country can adapt to their own needs. The next step is listening carefully, defining manageable projects, and documenting the results.
Help shape the next chapter: email info@phoenixbite.com with the subject “Community Build.” Tell us your town or state, one local need, and one skill, resource, or idea you can bring. This is an invitation to a conversation; participation opportunities will depend on the project and available capacity.
We want families to be able to look at the work and say: we understand it, we can question it, and there may be a place for us to help build it.
